The Dead Science - On Your Shore
The Velvet Underground - Ocean
“Here comes the ocean
And the waves
Down by the sea
Here comes the ocean
And the waves
Where have they been?
Silver and black with night
Heres to a summers night
An empty splendid castle
Glowering alone at night
The princess has had a fright
Madness seeks out the lover
And here come the waves down by the shore
Washing the soul of the body
That comes from the depths of the sea
Here comes the ocean
And the waves down by the sea
Here comes the ocean
And the waves, where have they been
Dont swim tonight my love
The tide is out my love
Malcoms curse haunts our family
Oh yes, loud in which, ruler of filthy seas, revelling heavans justice
And here come the waves
And save for a scream
Theres much like a song
To be heard, in the wind, that blows by the sea.
Like the wind
Here come the waves,
Here come the waves,
Here come the waves”
I Could Be Nothing - Great Lake Swimmers
Goes on forever along the shoreline
Never will end on the shores of my mind
Travel along ‘til the sleep takes me in
Where have I ended, where do I begin?
Sand blankets are littered, stones whipped across
Dead things in the water, forgotten or lost
Branches have surfaced, now they are lean
Trees have washed up here
Stripped bare and washed clean
The waves kiss and gently caress on the shore
Kissing and licking, and calling for more
The waves like wagging tongues do adore
And whispering softly to the sand on the shore
You would be nothing without me
I could be nothing
Said the waves to the sand
I could be nothing without you
Each ones shifts and weakens a little
Neither aware just how much they are brittle
Each one shifts and weakens a bit
Allowing the other to live and exist
O water and patience, pressure and time
Cuts through the faces of rocks we have climbed
The army of kisses, the lake never tires
The kisses that can put out all of my fires
You could be nothing without me
I could be nothing
Said the waves to the sand
I could be nothing without you
Without you, I would be nothing
Without me, you could be nothing
Said the waves to the sand
I could be nothing without you(via vanmoose)

Aesop Rock - Fishtales
“Billygoat beard twenty years in the making
carried lures in his brim, carried beer in his waders”
You know I realized recently that I don’t really have any rap on here and my buddy Adam just happened to show me this awesome music video,
Skateboarding in waders and on a fish is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in awhile.
The skateboarder is Jeremy Fish. I’m surprised they didn’t use a skate, seems more obvious to me.
Via the Moldy Chum (a must for all fly fisherman or even normal fisherman like me)
I’m currently visiting my friends Sam and Jeff in Oakland, and I thought I would do a little spotlight on Jeff’s work. He has some really amazing photos and if you like any of them please buy some prints! He would really appreciate it.
He also has a Flickr page

The Detachment Kit - High Seas
“let’s tackle the high seas. your ghost is nothing but a fond memory to me. we’re breaking the strong arm and i’ve got a dirty mouth.”
Nick Drake - Time has Told Me
“And time has told me
Not to ask for more
Someday our ocean
Will find its shore.”
Moonface - “Dreamland EP: Marimba and Shit-Drums”
New solo work from Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown and Swan Lake. Does this man ever rest?
Click through for a free* download of his new solo EP. Good luck downloading it though, their servers have been slammed all day.
*The page asks for a donation, ala the Radiohead model.
Listening to this now. A really cool long, 20 minute song. Really like it.
Cornelius - Chapter 8 Seashore and Horizon
“Now I’ve seen a blue beginning (now I go)
And I’ve seen a blue “the end” (now I know)
Set the scene, man, seaward swimming (now I go)
Dim the stage again”
Real Estate - Snow Days
“Oh, you walk so slowly
Under the pull of this high tide
Thinking about the old days
Thinking about these lines
February down by the shore
The waters never freeze
Despite the ice and snow
The snow up to your knees
Bright grey sky, make your eyes feel sore
As you walk into the breeze
All you had to know
You knew when you were three”
A little weird, I planned to post this song when I listened to it on my mp3 player on the plane back to portland today and after I took a 5 hour nap back at my place, I woke up to city covered in snow when it was clear when I arrived. A little discombobulating, but I still love waking up to fresh snow.
If Real Estate does not relax you, you might need help.
