The Microphones - The Moon
This is one of my favorite songs and I’m surprised I have not posted it in the year since I started this blog. But now is a good time to post because I just accepted a job up in Olympia, WA (where Phil Elvrum used to be based) working as a contractor for the USGS, Nisqually Delta Restoration, and Ducks Unlimited, helping out on restoration projects in the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. I’m pretty excited for this job and to live in Olympia, I’ve heard awesome things and it has a great music scene. Hopefully I will get to see Phil Elvrum perform while I’m up there.
“We found a precious place in the sand right out in the wind
And we laid under a blanket and heard the furious sound
The roar of waves, the pounding surf, two bodies on the earth”
