Portland Cello Project (featuring Justin Power) - Cut the Rope
Really like this song
Takeshi Terauchi and The Bunnys - Danube Waves
When I was a freshman in college, I wanted to make a rock band that covered classical music. A few years later I saw this post on WFMU about a japanese surf rock band that had the same idea. Thankfully they are awesome, this has become one of my most listened to albums. Go to the site and download the songs, they are great.
Beach House - Zebra
Honestly, I don’t know what to say about this other than I just love it. The whole album (Teen Dream) is superb.
Be excited. 2010 is going to be great.
Real Estate - Snow Days
“Oh, you walk so slowly
Under the pull of this high tide
Thinking about the old days
Thinking about these lines
February down by the shore
The waters never freeze
Despite the ice and snow
The snow up to your knees
Bright grey sky, make your eyes feel sore
As you walk into the breeze
All you had to know
You knew when you were three”
A little weird, I planned to post this song when I listened to it on my mp3 player on the plane back to portland today and after I took a 5 hour nap back at my place, I woke up to city covered in snow when it was clear when I arrived. A little discombobulating, but I still love waking up to fresh snow.
If Real Estate does not relax you, you might need help.
….And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Inland Sea (EP Edit)
“Stay calm, stay calm
Relax your limbs gently float to earth
Hear the laughing of the Inland Sea
And know your mind is where you’re meant to be”
